Kelman wines are produced with minimal intervention, seeking to preserve the authenticity of their noble origin. We adopt integrated production practices, following sustainable agriculture, the rational use of resources and the preservation of ecosystems.
We use grapes from our own vineyards, planted with native Dão varieties: 6 hectares in year 2000 and 2 hectares of old vines, with some plots planted in 1931. Kelman Dez Castas, a field blend, is produced with this parcel.
The production is all without irrigation, with manual harvesting and respecting the optimum maturation point of each variety (except Kelman Dez Castas). We do not use any animal-based winemaking products. Thus, wines are suitable for consumption by the vegan community.
Kelman wines have a great gastronomic range, with great elegance, evolving nicely for decades in the bottle. They are very much appreciated in restaurants around the world. Markets include: United Kingdom, United States, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Canada and Brazil.
